Marissa Parks
Born in West Palm Beach, FL, raised in Southington, CT, beginning my education in Lake City, FL, and continuing it in Valdosta, GA, you can see I move around a lot. I enjoy traveling, experiencing new things, and discovering new places, its where a lot of my inspiration steams from.

From a young child, I've always known that I wanted to be an artist one day. At 5 years old, I would collect leaves from outside and paint on them. In high school, I would attend the annual art show at North Florida Community College in Madison, FL and placed every year from my freshman to senior year. When I graduated high school, I started my Associates in Liberal Studies at Florida Gateway College in Lake City, FL. There, I got my first two publications in the 2016 Fall Edition of Howl, the college's magazine. In the same semester, for the 2016 Fall Art Show, my octopus teapot won the 2016 Purchase Award, putting my piece on permanent display in the college's library.

After graduating with my Associates degree from Florida Gateway College, I briefly studied my Bachelors of Arts at Florida State University. It took me only one semester to realize that FSU wasn't a fit for me, so I transferred to Valdosta State University where I study currently.

In between classes and work, I enjoy photography, painting, and sculpting. With my Bachelor of Arts, I hope to start a career at an art museum and work my way up to a curator.
